Masala chai
Masala chai is a flavoured tea beverage made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs. Originating in the Indian subcontinent, the beverage has gained worldwide popularity, becoming a feature in many coffee and tea houses. Masala chai recipe being everyone’s favourite and has become an integral part of every Indian’s life
Chai tea is a fragrant, spicy tea that may help boost heart health, reduce blood sugar levels, aid digestion and help with weight loss. Although most of these health benefits are backed by science, it’s worth noting that they are generally linked to the ingredients used in chai tea rather than chai tea itself.
Ingredients:
- 2 cardamoms
- cinnamon (dalchini). Can be used in powdered form also.
- 2 cloves
- 1 inch ginger grated or crushed
- 2 cups water
- 2 teaspoon sugar or add as per taste
- 2 teaspoon tea (Tea as per choice)
- 1/2 cup Non dairy milk
- 1 Star Anise
Getting it done:
- Take cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, star anise and ginger and crush all the ingredients.
- In a small pan, take 2 cups water
- Let the water boil and then add the crushed spices ingredients.
- Boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add sugar as per taste.
- Now add 2 teaspoon tea. Boil for a minute. This boiling of tea water depends on how strong you want your tea.
- Add non-dairy milk. Boil for 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the tea in cups with help of strainer
- Serve Indian masala chai hot with choice your sides or snacks.
